Release Notes ndla 1.0

We are pround to present version 1.0 of the ndla source code. The project is based on  Dopler, but has forked as a stand-alone project and all changes after the fork will be documented on  http://bak.ndla.no. The entire projects source code is also available for anyones review there. The first website to utilize the platform is now up and running on  http://ndla.no.

Below is a list of changes since the project split paths with Dopler.

New features

• Browser capability check added.
• New ReadSpeaker. Now embedded in the pages.
• English dictionary (Engelskordboka) for the subject English.
• Better navigation on persons and institutions.
• Better support for translation av topics
• Support for FEIDE login

Bugfixes

• General improvements on design, performance and stability
• Images and videos show up correctly in Fagstoff pages in Internet Explorer.
• Cleaned up problems around lead pages (ingress).

Known Issues

• ReadSpeaker does not have voice optimized for norwegian nynorsk yet.
• ReadSpeaker reads too much text on some pages. ( TGP-1793)
  • Workaround: If the user marks text on the page before clicking the listen button, only the marked text is read.
• A performance issue on reCapthca and caching (Varnish) har forced us to remove Comments from this version
